Baker Days Valentine's Cakes

Forget sending a card for Valentine's Day - why not send a cake instead!

The lovely people at Baker Days* offered to send me one of their letterbox sized cakes for review and I'm definitely not the kind of girl that can refuse cake - ever!

When I first thought about a cake plopping through the letterbox I was worried about it breaking, but Baker Days have definitely got that covered, the original package came in a sturdy, flat, white box and inside was a beautiful round tin with the words, "Just For You" on the front. Inside, the cake completely fills in the tin so there is no room for it to move about anywhere, keeping the cake in perfect condition. Once all the cake has been eaten, the tin also doubles up as a lovely keepsake.

Prices start at £14.99 for the letterbox cake which is a 5" round cake and has 3-4 portions (if you fancy sharing!) Baker Days also offer several other sizes including 7", 9" and 12" which can cater for any party size.

The cake I received was a traditional sponge cake (my favourite!) but if you're not a fan of vanilla sponge you can also have chocolate, fruit cake and even gluten and dairy free! When I opened up the tin for the first time, I got a lovely waft of yummy cake and I was desperate to take a bite!

They even went the extra mile and popped some mini love heart sweets inside too! It didn't take long for those to be devoured!

The letterbox cake is a really sweet idea to send as a gift, not just for Valentine's Day but all year round, they have lots of different designs, for birthdays, anniversaries, new jobs or even personalised cakes with your own photo on the front, you name it, they've got it! They even do personalised cupcakes if you don't fancy a whole cake!

Next day delivery is available if you order before 2pm (cost dependent on service) but free delivery is also available if you choose the 7 day option. The letterbox cake is sent by Royal Mail second class so it doesn't need to be signed for so even if the recipient was out they would come home to a lovely surprise!

I would love to receive one of these in the post, it would definitely make my day!

Have you heard of Baker Days or used them before?
